The first time I went to Philly I didn’t realize I should be careful. I didn’t realize it was surrounded by some of the worst ghettos in all the US of A. I was amazed to find out that there were so many beautiful historical buildings in the ghettos, that Strawberry Mansions, for example, used to be an affluent area a long time ago and now it is damn scary. It should be a beautiful happier place.
It just proves that it is not necessarily where you are that is a ghetto but more how the people in the area think. Ghetto is a state of mind. It is a culture. What a damn shame for those who are better than that to be stuck with the ghetto minds. You can have the finest place/area/things but if your mind is a ghetto you are lost. What sucks is the people around them they drag down.
Ghetto is a state of mind. Whoever would knowingly glorify and perpetuate a ghetto is committing their own form of crimes against humanity.
It’s never too late to turn your back on the ghetto. Even if you’re stuck in it for a while. As long as you know you are better than that, you will get out.
By the way, ghetto minds don’t only live in ghetto areas. Just as some really fine minds and souls are trapped in the projects. Damn.
This is a universal concept…
I cannot reitterate the importance of understanding that our thoughts create us…and that we hold the power to change our reality.
Self-will and Self-Love is the key to any desination.
